Before the count increases (khudanakhwasta) and we forget and take it as a norm, let’s pray for teh departed soul and let’s pray that this “khoon ki holi” played with many innocents stops in our city Karachi. Amen

Please..! If more of these hooligans die, maybe the students will start to realize that colleges and universities are a place for studies, not politics. I for one dont think that any of the three men killed were innocent. They had joined the organizations willingly..If you play with fire, you will get burnt. You won’t see me crying if any more of them are wiped out.

ME they were sons of some poor parents who thought they would become something, instead of ending like this, for those who are left behind these are life long wounds and cannot be healed.

Let me tell you how these so called student orgs trap newly arrived admitted students from upcountry. After Zia-u–Haques ban on elected unions, various students groups mainly from upper country + Jamiat latched on to the hostel rooms, they were living in. Whenever a student from upcountry is admitted in an institution, his basic and most urgent need is obviously accommodation. That’s were these organizations trap them. The upcountry students have no option but to choose one if they want a roof over their heads. Finally, when they get their rooms, these organizations can easily get on with the process of indoctrination and using them when they want. When you are living hundreds of miles away from your home with your buddies in a hostel, have money to spent thanks to our political mentors, given weapons, transport and what not. Its very hard to avoid such a trap.

As I have said earlier, unless we don’t put pressure on our political leaders to stop using students for their goals, things won’t change. Sadly, the Media is also not taking due notice of this issue.
