Seven Killed in Bus Ambush near Karachi Universtiy

Student politics seems to be slowly getting out of control. Today according to eyewitnesses, unknown persons riding a motorcycle threw a grenade at a minibus of route number G-7 and fired with automatic weapons where as some persons were burnt in the incident and they are being taken to various hospitals. Geo

“Around seven people riding on three motorbikes intercepted the minibus. One of them peeped into the vehicle and threw a hand grenade inside while others opened fire on it,” senior police official Mir Zubair said. Four of the dead were from the Islami Jamiat Tulaba, the student wing of the Jamaat-i-Islami party. “We don’t know the motive for the attack,” Zubair said. “It could be targeted killing or an act of terrorism.” The attack came a day after a clash between rival students group in the university in which four students were wounded. Dawn

Unknown persons !!…. where have I heard that one before…

    IJT is still in denial just like Imran Khan. Every 2-3 months they have an itch somewhere to prove that KHI is with JI

    I have one slogan for them:

    “Agar nah magar
    Altaf Nagar”

  2. Syed Johny (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 3:38 am

    I am just pissed off !!!

    this was the last thing I expected!!!

    a public buss attacked fire upon ! even had Grenade thrown upon it!!!??”?

    This isnt target killing like IJT is saying !
    ( I continue to be amazed by IJT and JIs Intelligence, their announcement that four of its workers were among the dead came at the time when even the number of deaths werent even confirmed !!)

    This was just a conspiracy to create HAVOC in Karachi ! and nothing else!!!

    GOD save Karachi !!

    For sure its linked with what happened @ JPMC. PSA terrorists have done it again; they killed students @ JPMC and now they killed these guys …..

    Its about time that terrorist outfits like PSA and ANP must be banned; or better yet ban all parties in educational institutions.

  4. Teeth Maestro (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 3:43 am

    @MQM, how breathtakingly ravishing – blame everyone, IJT has an itch – Imran Khan has an itch, Nawaz Sharif has an itch, Chief Justice has an itch, Raja Riaz has an itch. Good God everyone else has an itch and they are the ones who get killed or deported out of the city, while MQM is the saint around here. I think you all have run out of logic explanations to defend all this Ghunda’ism we see here in Karachi – please Get over it.

    But please don’t mistake me for defending IJT as we are all aware that they fully have an integral part of gangster student politics

    I assure you if MQM gets over the Ghunda mentality and cleanse itself of this problem, the famous muhajir spirit will come back to Karachi (80’s and early 90’s passion). For now people would rather run away the moment the MQM word is heard.

    Until then the mqm supporters are filled with a lot of hot air then actual substance, use this blog to argue on issues but please avoid foul language and name calling as it only goes to degrade you and your party even further.

    just yesterday Altaf bai while adressing ‘graduate forum’ in his trademark demonic voice threatened karachi bar lawyers, journalists and others who tried to expose MQM’s terrorism..

    @TEETH

    MQM was not there when IJT was killing students in KU campus almost 27 years ago. IJT is not innocent. They do something stupid, and when they get beaten, they start crying foul.

    Off course, Gunda gardi is bad, but in defence, this is the best offence. Right now, I can live with MQM gunda gardi but not IJT, ANP, or Imran Khan’s.

  7. farhan (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 4:10 am

    Punjabis are undeniably the only killers in this episode, …from the same PMA which killed two Jamatis , few weeks back in JPMC.

    How can you even discuss teh possibility that it could be anyone else apart from the Punjabis of PMA.

    All I want to see , it to see the same venomous anti Punjabi propaganda which had hitherto been reserved for MQM to be written in these discussions.

  8. d0ct0r (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 4:21 am

    as usual MQM’s supporters are busy spreading ethnic hatred.. thats the only thing they’re good at besides terrorizing innocent public…

  9. Teeth Maestro (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 4:25 am

    @MQM – I agree with you on the IJT issue they have resorted to ghunda gardi before – hence would not support them, likewise MQM is on the same path no different. But come on you justify these killings by as righteous and in self defense / self preservation – please – lets be straight forward – anyone / any party that resorts to violence should NOT be supported plain and simple – start believing that and your arguments will change.

    @TEETH

    Ideally speaking, the state should have the monoply over violence….Thats the first principle of state. But if the state abdicates this responsibility, then another agent will take its place. If that is Taliban or JI, then I am pissed off beyond imagination. If this is MQM, I am pissed off too, but not beyond control.

    So ideally, I want professional state agents (police) take control of streets, but if they r not there, I am OK with MQM

  11. Farhan (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 4:50 am

    Mr Maestro,
    You seem to be living in some utopian, wonderland where violence is an unknowm entity and law and justice prevails. You seem to sound like a 16 year girl who has written her poem on my favorite pony . Which century are you living in,

    these transport mafia, these punjabi police walas, these sindhi grade 17 officers –they would rob you of your houses, cars and wallets if they could. Offence is the best defense in the wild jungle of Karachi.

    Your budhist pilopsophy would be relevant elsewhere but not in a city which has witnessed Qasba Colony Massacre, Pucca Qila Tragedy and Operation Clean Up.

    In rome do as romans dojoin the undisputed, unanimous democratic voice of Urab Sindh- MQM.

  12. Ahmed (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 6:59 am

    The only reason why I would still vote for MQM is because there are no better options. I’ve also heard of all the operations against muhajirs by all other ethnic groups. And then people wonder why MQM still has the support of Karachi.

    Burn in Hell MQM and all other political parties, we need someone like Quaid-e-Azam to get this country on track again.

  15. z s (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 7:15 am

    @Farhan : it’s cowardly to use arguements like “you think like a girl”… “you’re thinking of a utopian world. real world = real men who kill others to get revenge”.
    yes, that’s how the ugly monsters of our city think… but are you one of them? if not, then condemn them, no matter who they are.

  16. Reality_Check (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 8:17 am

    DANISH it was Quaid-e-Azam who got us all in this fix, in the first place :-).

    After partition, he was not happy how it all turned out to be, his dreams of a secular and progressive Pakistan started to crumble before his eyes, indeed he died a sad and broken man.

    I see dark times ahead, there is gonna be showdown between extreme forces on both side of the spectrum.

    ZEE Your comment reminded me of an event during Zia’s time, I would try to be as accurate as my memory allows me to be;

    After the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, there was an event organized by the Russian Embassy in Islamabad on the annversary of the Russian Revolution. Zia-ul-Haque was invited but He did not show up. The Russian Embassador, who was drunk got extremely angry over this snub from Zia-ul-Haque and blurted to his Pakistani guests, “You think you have defeated us in Afghanistan. We are leaving behind so much weaponary, that your generations would pay for your actions”

    Indeed we are paying very dearly.

    The Bad part of the incident is that without any firm reports on the incident – blame game has been started. I head read the statement of JI leaders , they are directly accusing MQM on this however till the time there is a word from investigation team i think they should play safe.
    On the Other side MQM also claimed that a brother of his worker is also seiorusly injured in the incident.

    Yes it could be out of theon going tussle between PSA and IJT

    who says ppl of karachi support mqm?? any prove?
    ppl are sick of mqm. even mqm voters have shown their back to mqm now.

    now the things have reached this point that bombs are being thrown on the buses openly. wow!!
    isnt it terrorism??? where are those organizations of human rights??

    when they have a 14 rifles in lal masjid, they started shouting ” ammunition ammunition” .

    Another news uis that there has been a blast in (na)pak army messs. and many of the soldiers had beeen “murdaar”. they have said it was a suicidal bombing case. how they figure out that???

    and after 9/11 and since our policies have taken U-turn for pakistan,l 99% of bombs blasts had been suicidal. how can it be… duh!!

    i have seen 1 sensible person here that belongs to mqm , here for the first time.

    Hi @MQM: perhaps u cud talk to altaf and ask him to leave pakistan all alone. muhajirs must have better wid out him.

    @Imran

    i dont recall bringing your mom and dad into the discussion (unless Altafa kanjar qualifies).
    Nor do i intend to get into a bad mouthing contest during ramadan. So stay put and prove that altafa is neither a kanjar nor a terrotist and then we may be able to proceed forward. He is a known kanjar and a known terrorist and a killer. If you have your eyes wide shut, that is one of the reasons for the current state of karachi. YOU are responsible.

  38. imran (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 10:01 pm

    @kaduna2003,
    It is not the questsion of who is Altaf or not. Its about the way you present your argument. Ppl like you causes all these clashes and killings in karachi because of your senseless abusive words whic offends others. Rememeber if you trying to convence somebody on some point and you have facts then you never want to start your argument using bad words and calling names..Go read my previous post. I did not say anything bad about your father yet i did deliever the message. You could have done the same but i guess that requires some education.
    Using words like “kunjar” is only going to prove your level of thinking and your family background and there is no argument on that. this is a common knowledge that ppl start cursing when they dont have any facts to talk about.So i really dont need to prove anything to you until you prove that you have the same level of mentality as a other normal human beings.
    one more thing to remember that bad mouthing only makes you tounge balck(if it is not already) so stay away from it. Plz do seek some help you really need some.

  39. kaduna2003 (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 10:20 pm

    @imran

    Hahahhaha. I once again have not brought you parents into the discussion nor your family. And yet again to do so. How pathetic.

    And yet you have the audacity to jump on your high horse and preach how to conduct a dialogue. You post nothing but drivel and avoid addressing the issue of terrorism practiced by altaf and his cohorts. Your technique of obfuscating the matter with references to family and education might work in the circles that you move in. But this buster aint buying it.

    And given that you have nothing to contribute nor do you have a solution on how to stop Altaf and his goons from killing with rank abandon, you and i have nothing to discuss anymore. You can continue to bring family and parents into the discussion as your kind are prone to do at the drop of a hat, but i will not respond anymore to your utter rubbish.

    Salam and Peace.

    Well – once we went to the Karachi University dhaba – to have some chana puri. And this IJT badmaash came by. He said, “Get away now, I am being nice, my other friends would have killed you.”

    I was with two male classmates who – certain that I was going to slap the guy or something – pleaded that they were going to get the worst of it, and that we should silently get away. We ran back to IBA, where we were informed that there was a killing just a day earlier. It just wasn’t a great time to be in the territory of these murderers.

    I hate these fake fascist Mullahs. They are feudal minded terrorists using false ideals to harass people. That guy was a thug, and to imagine he threatened to kill us “khuda ke liye.”
