Common Sense….Oh so rare! – Traffic Police

Yesterday while commuting home from work, I was stuck in a mysterious traffic jam on the Marriott road, going towards Metropole. The jam tail-ended till over the clifton bridge and it took around 40 minutes to get to Metropole signal from clifton bridge. I had thought that there was some VIP movement going on in the area, however upon reaching the signal, I found out the main cause of the jam was

a traffic police warden who had absolutely no clue of how to manage traffic. He was wearing sunglasses, holding up his wireless to his mouth (as if it was the 1st time he’d come across one) and just messing up the whole situation.

I’ll try to explain in the picture below:

Metropole.jpg

The road from Marriott was completely jammed to the brim.
The road from PC was completely jammed and cars were overflowing in the opposite lane as well.
The road from Sh. Faisal was also jammed and there was no way of going around the Metropole (green arrow).

Mr. Smarty, instead of controlling the traffic, was letting the public decide their way and as a result, there was a grid-lock situation with no place to go. Slowly, as the cars squeezed through, and the traffic finally started to move, I finally reached the signal at the end of the Marriott road, when suddenly, he let go of ONE cultus coming from PC, going towards Marriott.

Since the traffic was already barely moving, and the only flow was going from Marriot (where I was), the Cultus was stuck right in the middle, without a chance to go ahead or back. This resulted in another round of horns howling and ridiculing the police wala, but all he did was raise his hands, and said “what can I do, now keep shouting and standing here”.

Anyone else encounter a similar display of senselessness?

Oooohhh God !!! really a great problem. We have to do something about it. What we can is …. we have to keep passion and tolrance in ourselves. If we try to let the other go first the trafic will not jam at all.

And really you wouldn’t late more then 05-minuts. This problem is just creat when we try to go first of all.

secondly VIPs movement these days can’t be blamed for taffic jams coz surprisingly most of the ruling govt’s VIPs are moving around with normal traffic offcourse with their security protocol but still credit should be given to them for not disrupting the regular traffic flow…

Ahh … so that was the hold up … good thing I was able to move from Avari to US consulate easily … and not get caught up in the jam … Just moments ago I went from that place and it turned out to be a jam in a jiffy … and I was wondering that is it iftar time already that everyone is rushing out …
