Interesting to see how Mcdonalization is intercepting grassroots in the developing world. What we are looking at is “in fact” street competition as major corporations superimpose themselves displacing local markets.

kaduna2003, if you’re really willing to enjoy some unique taste of BanKebab rather Burger then try Bun Kabab Wala in Nazimabad Chota Maidan infront of Mumtaz Nehari. Cost of BunKabab is Rs.15 and taste is awesome. People from distant places are used to come nazimabad just for bun kabab.

well if it is about BUN KABAB –
1. At corner of paradise market (paradise hotel) opposite IB office on Shahrae Iraq (road heading towards sindh high court & masjid khizra) there is ONE Suzuki wala very next to water handpump selling Bun Kabab, the taste is same as it was of my school days. At that time price was 75 Paisa for school uniform guys and 90 paisa for all others.
Now it is – :) Rs. 15 taste is same but size is Small :(
2. Babu ka Bun kabab
north nazimabad, block L street 6th, corner – double road from 5 star towards Tahir Villa –
Bun soft as baby BUM :) sekh kabab & chutney aysee kay wah ! :) – i wish if he is well & still there!
imran (unregistered) on September 27th, 2007 @ 7:36 pm
@Adnan,
It is a small shop (no seating). I dont remember the name, but it is next to Jamat khana(or community hall) by that chowrangi. Do try his chicken sticks too..My mouth is watering too bad I am too far away to go there.
@jamal,
You reminded old days man. I used to have babu bunkabob and boti..it is good. I think he is still there.

While everyone is going nuts over all these bun kabab vaalaas, can any one comment on the hygene situation at these Thailaaas, dukkaans, khwaanchaas. As much as I hate that people in Karachi think of foreign junk food chains as upscale restaurants, these foreign junk food places in Karachi did raise the level of service. They do have cleaner facilities. So I would give them credit there.
Anyway, any nice clean place to enjoy bun kababs without getting paiT-may-gaRbaR? or for that matter, a list of upscale bun kabab places in Karaci?
imran (unregistered) on September 27th, 2007 @ 9:54 pm
@Balma,
You got some serious porblems in your head that is why you get “Pait-may-garbar” These thailas have bun kabobs that are good and economic so everybody can afford them.
Balma ( I hope this is not your original name, i would have shoot myself if sombody called me Balma)why dont you jump from Naiti-Jaiti you will find some clean bun kabob places in there..
