LPG – Decanting is illegal

OGRA is yelling that LPG decanting is illegal. Yet, it is easy to find shops in the middle of busy markets selling LPG to taxis and suzuki loading vans. The scary fact about LPG is that it is heavier than air and it just ‘sits down’ if leaked (only to be spread out and diluted by moving air) unlike natural gas which is lighter and moves upwards quickly.

we can help OGRA by sending – digital pics of the outlets –

I did that about 3 weeks back and 2 outlets are closed in North Karachi industrial area.

let us grab our digital cams and use JPG format size under 700K files to send to OGRA by email with possible exact location address of the place.

rest assured they act in less then 72 hours.

    Great work Jamal,

    and a great idea too.
There are many such outlets in Saddar, Dehli Colony, Akhtar Colony, Dalmia Road that decant LPG.

Its quite possible though that the police doesnt even know its illegal….or they would atleast attempt to make some money! :P
