Calling for Citizens Help to update Karachi Situation

Since many of us are stuck indoors its difficult to gauge what is happening where. News reports do give a decent account but what better then to have the citizens of Karachi report themselves – so if you have a situation update on a specific area please post it here immediately, as people contribute I shall update this post for everyone benefit.

If anyone has pictures they will also be appreciated – post a link and we shall attend to it ASAP

I wonder why they were not given that order in tribal areas? This would have saved many lives

My name is Nigel, and i live in Sydney Australia. I have a friend who is arriving in Karachi, departing from Bangkok at 5.10pm Karachi time. My friend is saying Pakistan for 4 weeks to teach Pakistani teachers.

The Australian teachers, as far as i am aware are still travellling to Karachi.

I would appreciate any updates, or advise, from the bloggers of Karachi on the current crisis.

    Thank u

Not wanting to sound overly rude, but the twitter service (Karachi channel) greatly helps in situations like this.

Nigel I would suggest that your friend should not come to karachi, situation is pretty bad here. City is completely shut down.

I had a flight out from Singapore today to Karachi via Bangkok. I think it was the same flight as your friend. I cancelled it, as should have your friend. I hope he does ok.

Former Jamat Activist and MQM’s head Altaf Hussain and current Jamat Activist and leader Qazi Hussain have issued fatwas that B.B should be called Shaheed. They didn’t clarify what should be called to those other poor souls who also lost their lives in yestereve’s tragic incident.

Everyone is showing so much sympathy to BB..but no one is mentioning those other ppl who died the same day..or what about those innocent ppl who wont be able to provide their family food bcoz of those strikes….why are people so sad of her loss..where there are other ppl who are dying of hunger and poverty ..she had left so much for her kids that they wont have to worry for their life time..but what about those who lost the only one who was taking care of the whole family.
