FTC Flyover Closed on Tuesday

The FTC Flyover is being closed for the day due to some maintenance work – For people wishing to commute between Defence and the Airport routes, please take the Baloch Colony Bridge. If you’re at home, the television channels will hopefully keep you updated with routes, else if you’re stuck in the car, Apna Karachi Fm107 and Fm105 try and put out traffic updates as and when they get updates.

BTW, this news/update is too minor to be putten here, it can be seen / listened on radio, tv and newspapers/news websites. blogging is someting else,, what do you guys think, i am also concerned about KMB’s influence towards politics, sometime it looks like a political dicussion forum rather than a forum, i think IMB and LMB (specialy IMB) did a great effort by not posting political news/issues.

just thinking,, not trying to offent anyone.

@IRONIC, I disagree, I think this is the helpful kind of news I expect to see at KMB, well done Rabia!

Why wasn’t this announced in the newspapers etc.? And why is it being done on a weekday? Maintenance work like this should either be occuring on the weekend or during the middle of the night, when there is lesser traffic.

    Thanks Rabia for posting this.

I have just commuted through Sharah-e-Faisal and the flyover is OPEN. No sign of it being closed down or anything.

The closure was announced last night, even I saw the slide on TV One. The major reason was that during the maintenance/ development work, some water pipeline got leaked & flooded the roads thus creating the jam.
