Once Enemies

Time is cruel. They were once fierce enemies hurling all kind of filth at each other. They are together now but is it for the poor or for power? [Credit : Raja Islam]

They arnt really toghter just for this one candidate representing both parties but mainly PPP. Though they did form a alliance for democracy to crush dictatorship. Its like the lesser of two evils.

They Are together coz they have common interest !!!! becoming PM for 3rd time…..beleive me it would have been very exciting if BB would havebeen Alive and if PPP & PML(N) takesthe majority then they would have a bigfight on who to become PMfor 3rd time but unfortunately this couldn’t happen…Lets c wats Paksitan’s fate !!!

Their collaboration won’t work, at least in Karachi. PPP would win a couple of NA seats plus few PA seats in Karachi, But PLM-N has no chance of winning a single NA or PA seat in entire Sindh, let alone Karachi.

i really do not get it!!

this seat from defence karachi NA-251 has always gone to PML and last time to MMA.

the MQM won for the first time in a by-election with full govt support. MQM has never won this the provencial assembly seat from here!

i do not understand why nawaz did not field capt.haleem siddiqi?

i specially went to pakistan at the end of dec, 07 for 3 weeks so that i could vote in the jan/08 elections for the 1st time in my life.

but it was not meant to be!

I do know that Pakis are used to and enjoy being screwed.

But have you ever experienced being rogered from both ends?

Well here is your opportunity at last. Vote for them, and feel this pleasure!

They don’t hve vision and leadership or any Class..just finding excuse to get in again…

  14. BitterTruth (unregistered) on February 7th, 2008 @ 7:54 pm

Halim Siddique became lota and joine PML(Q)..he then became Sindh organizer for PML(Q).. why would Nawaz Sharif going to put him as a candidate?
Other than this, regardless of party views, Dr. Ikhtiar Baig is a nice and educated person and a successful businessman. Similarly Khush Bakhat Shujaat also seems to be an apporpriate choice.

Its simply this, Nawaz Sharif has no other options and PPP wouldn’t mind him tagging along because in the last two decades their strength in Punjab has literally evaporated, any ally who could damage the opponent would be more than welcome.

I see it like this, poor Nawaz wanted to come back. So he first forged alliance with JI / PTI and made his attempt. That ended in a huge disappointment as the promised crowds of millions never showed up. So now what to do? He turned to BB, abandoning Khar on the way. He now wanted to clear up some matters with Washington and ofcourse had already apologized to BB for the past misconduct. This was initiated by his dear friend Saif-ur-Rehman who begged Zardari for forgiveness a long time back. However, the baggage that Mr. Sharif carries viz a viz Osama seems to be his greatest obstacle now. The money he supposedly rcvd from him via ISI to bring down the first BB government and an entry of his face to face meeting with the bearded guy does not look good on his resume. On top of this, his written agreements, his nerves behind bars, his fleeing when times were tough and proven credentials of lopsided decision making, corruption compounded by sheer incompetence will never make him a statesman that he wants us to believe that he is.

On the positive note, When General Jilani choose him to be the CM of Punjab, setting aside the traditional elite of Tiwana’s and Hayat’s, he inadvertently gave the Punjab Middle / Merchant class, a great push in politics loosening the traditional stranglehold of the landed elite. Mr. Sharif does represent that change, if only he was competent with a bit of wisdom….Ahhh!

For now PP will gladly use his company, but his future will depend on the question, How many of his winning candidates will remain with him after elections?

Khushbakht Shujaat’s husband Shujaat Ali Baig is minister in current caretaker govt of sindh, either election commission is deliberately turning a blind eye towards this issue or maybe cheif election commissioner have seen the fate of Chief Justice on 12th may 2007 and is too scared to even utter a word against these goons from MQM..

  28. Jalma (unregistered) on February 10th, 2008 @ 3:54 am

    hey doctor
in the pic you posted why the people are dugging and hiding behind the car ??

  29. Reality_Check (unregistered) on February 10th, 2008 @ 4:05 am

DOCTOR so what difference does it make if Khushbakht ‘s Husband is in the care taker
govt, there is no law against that, and no violation to take notice of. He was a successful carrier Banker and now he is a goon too, by that logic Khusbakht is a goonie. Get a life DOCTOR while your real goons keep on explploding themselves, get some real arguments too.

And why are you taking such interest in elections? you are boycotting remember!

    Capt Haleem Siddiqi,
kahaa’n kay captain, kis kay captain?
He is prefessor aamil bangali type captain.
There should be rule in Pakistan to ban such use of military titles, esp when they are fake in case of haleem.
This crook siddiqui reminds me of another crook siddiqui: Mohsin Siddiqui….anyone remembers this smugler?
