Getting Ready For The Rain!
I do not think any resident of Karachi would have forgotten last years monsoon season. Well this years rains will have a drainage solution ready, at least for the residents of D.H.A ala the storm drain project. Civic planning has ensured that work has begun at fast pace, much before the rainy season to ensure that no water collects in the lanes and roads of D.H.A in Karachi. The pictures taken above are of Khayabane Shamsheer, which has been completely dug up on one side to build the storm drain leading directly to the sea, via sea view. Great work, may we humbly beg to have more of these in other parts of the city as well which are usually affected by rainfall?
The work done by the City Nazim on this issue is commendable. After the rain problems in 2006, he worked on this issue and the city has made much progress in this regard. I live in North Nazimabad and we used to have serious drainage problems here, specially 2 to 3 feet of water near KDA Chowrangi. But last year it drained away in almost no time after the rain ended.
BREAKING NEWS:
Local Governments including CDGK to be disolved
Check out the following news. Looks like all the development work that we have seen recently is all that we had to see in our lives.

Local governments to be dissolved
eventually both city govt and governor will have to be shown the door if they are serious about disbanding MQM’s terrorist network in karachi
MQM’s terrorist network? Let me tell you a story:
After the Feb 18 Elections, a PPP workers convoy passed through Garden. Someone from the locality fired a shot in the air. The convoy pulled out their guns and started shooting anyone in sight. Such civility, eh?
A friend of mine lives there and his comments: I saw a girl’s dead body lying on the road.
If you want to blame, blame all equally. All the construction work and development that has taken place in Karachi has done so under an MQM administration.
doctor, you just got bad blood in your veins. You want to see us Karachiites suffer. Why can’t people like you die in bomb blasts?
