the cheeks…..

i’m sure all of us have come across situations where despite being on the right, have been ridiculed by people who believe they own the roads. maybe some of us are part of that crazy bunch!

2 events in succession have prompted me to write this post…..what hurts me is that instead of feeling ashamed of what they’re doing, they have the guts to actually ridicule the one on the right track!

just this morning, while coming to work, a guy came wrong way infront of Allah wala roundabout and blocked me at the signal, and started shouting at me to move my car. its best that i don’t express my emotions here……

please share your experiences and reactions (if any)….

these incidents happened with me and i am sure all drivers must have faced such incidents in their driving. but point is that we need to stay calm always no need to shout or scream, even if we shout at him what kind of satisfaction will we get. person who is breaking the law and top of that threating and shouting on others i guess these guys should be left unattended.

Are you kidding, left unattended. They should be staked and it is not hard to imagine where I would start the insertion from. But then that is what I would do.

Best line of action is stick to your rights and stay on the right side of law. Let a barking dog bark, you cannot change that. Just don’t be pushed to bend the law because of them. Wait on the line till it is time for you to go forward.

    * infront of Allah wala roundabout

Which one? There are countless such round abouts in Karachi – just like tens of millions of people with ‘Khan’ in their name, almost 150 million (out of 16o millions or so total population) with Muhammad in their name, and probably 50 million abduls!

Granted, we are not a very creative nation, but it would help if you clarify the area you are talking about.

The problem is they sell cars…not the brains to go with it. The other problem is all the "Begamats" and "Shahibs" sitting in the car either reading newspapers or chatting on the telephones and not paying attention to what their drivers are doing. If only they would control their drivers a lot of the traffic would run smoothly.

ONLY one solution to Karachi’s problems. Impose a ban on visa less entries. Yes, I am talking about a VISA required to travel to Karachi AND, there should be a law that if you are coming from some other part of the country, at least two of your adult family members must stay back where you originally belong.

Have local police. What it means is that anyone working for any law enforcing agency MUST originate from Karachi (and it would be great if something like this could be implemented all around the country). If you are not from Karachi, you shouldn’t be allowed to work in Karachi police AND the police both traffic and the normal one should be working under CDGK.

See, the problem in Karachi is that every Sheeda Chowdari, Noor Khan, Babar Jatoi and Rafiq Baloch (local version of Tom, dick and harry with a bonus) comes to Karachi with absolutely no love for the city. It’s just a cash cow for them and they don’t care about the law and the local people. What happens is that this increases the number of uncivilized people in our city and then the literate people start to do what the illiterates do. Because of the sheer number of the illiterate ones, their poor civil behavior becomes a norm, one that soon even the civilized part of the society starts to follow.

A local police would great reduce the crime rate around the city because they’ll have a little (if not a lot) love for this city and they’ll work far better to serve this city than the guy who has been transfered to Karachi from Khanewal or Jhang to loot and spread corruption in an already corrupt police department.

@Zeeshan Pakistan is not confedartion of States which can implement such a law.

NADRA is established to cater and monitor for such mass population influx from here & there to there & here. 60 years in a country’s history is known as suckling period.

Like former Ambassador to Afghanistan Rustam Shah have said recently We are Thankless nation of rowdy people who pimp Islam, Freedom ask what is freedom from people in Afghanistan they are in a country which is FREE but still under clutches of anarchy. He continued as, Every Pakistani have a different meaning of Freedom, where as in the name religion out of which Pakistan came into being, Freedom means flexibility, tolerance and forgiveness.

when suckling period end teething start then on & on & on………….

    @Zeeshan,
it’s the dumbest and unrealistic idea, i am afraid most of those cheeks could be haq parast karkun’s (who thinks their father owns the roads), instead of narrow creation of Tom, dick and harry by your mind(if ????)

  10. zeeshan on May 26th, 2008 @ 7:44 am
