CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry to arrive in Karachi today

Its been over a year since the last time CJP iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry came to Karachi, but today afternoon he is yet again scheduled to land in Karachi and proceed to the Sindh High Court Bar Association to address the lawyers gathering there and later inaugurate a building as well.

Preparations have been underway for the reception and many organizations have teamed up to receive him at the airport. I am told that the local government has given the nod of approval and is expected to be supportive of this event, so lets hope that all goes well.

    Dear All:

It is to inform you that Mr. Iftikhar Choudhry, Ex Chief Justice of Supreme of Pakistan, will be arriving QIAP Karachi along with President Supreme Court Bar, Mr. Aitezaz Ehsan via PK 301 at 1130 today. Reportedly, several political party workers/leaders, mainly JI, PML(N), PTI and lawyers and members of civil societies are likely to receive him at the airport.

According to the program issued / published in the press/ media, the procession will proceed to PC Hotel direct from the QIAP. Subsequently the retired Chief Justice is likely to host a reception for the judges of Sindh High Court , and address the Sindh High Court Bar tomorrow, but the details of his program will be known to public by afternoon.

You are advised to avoid Shahra-e-Faisal from 1100 till the culmination of the rally, depending on the speed of the procession. Even though ex Chief Justice is being provided a high profile security, however, any unexpected incident cannot be ruled out. According to the Traffic Police Kashmir Road, Stadium Road, MA Jinah Road and Korangi Industrial Road would open to all kinds of traffic.

Teeth: Why do you keep deleting my comments? Don’t you have enough balls? Or is it something that runs in the family? or perhaps PTI?

I said it before and I’ll say it again – THIS MAD-EYE-MOODY is NOT THE CJP anymore. He WAS the CJP but NOT ANYMORE.

karachiwala….please STOP spreading your typical MQM agenda here. This is straight from DAWN’s website:

Thousands of supporters Tuesday welcomed Pakistan’s deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry on his arrival in Karachi, more than a year after his last attempt to visit the city sparked deadly unrest. He was accompanied by Supreme Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan and other office-bearers of the SCBA. About 5,000 lawyers and political activists, including deposed chief justice of Sindh High Court, Mr. Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, greeted justice Iftikhar on his arrival at the Karachi airport. Strict security measures had been taken for the occasion and authorities had setup barricades to stop all those coming to the deposed chief justice from entering the terminal building.

Iftikar Chaudry is THE CJ of Pakistan and that’s a fact!

She said the government had borrowed 204 billion rupees between January and March and 283.9 billion from April to June. In the last two days alone, it borrowed 55 billion rupees, she added

I can only pity you. It’s due to people like you that OUR country is divided the way it is right now. How is Karachi not a Imran Khan’s city? Is Karachi not part of Pakistan or Karachi can only be your city if you prescribe to one particular political parties agenda? EVERY Pakistani citizen has equal right on Karachi as YOU have so STOP telling me that Karachi is off limit to anyone.

Regarding CJ…he is the ‘THIRD best leader’ in Pakistan according to latest International Republican Institute (IRI) survey conducted…read the survey at http://dawn.com/2008/07/18/top2.htm

The WHOLE world considers him to be the legitimate CJ and frankly, I don’t give a damn about your opinion. So keep spreading your propaganda and I can only pray to Allah that HE shows both of us the right path.

if you bother to stop laughing and pay attention to my comment you may understand where I was coming from. Bhai sahib, being a citizen of Pakistan, every city, town and village of Pakistan is also Imran Khan’s town, village and city. Did you understan?

18 million people also don’t consider the Don of Karachi Altaf as their leader, and what is the point in saying that only 2000 people welcomed CJ? Am I not allowed to go to Karachi just because nobody come to airport to welcome me?

The fact of the matter is that most ppl in khi dont care abt the CJP issue.

The only reason PML N is after this issue is because they want their revenge against Mushy. I dont think the person who had the Supreme Court literraly attacked would care about the law.

As for other parties, they dont count for much, they are in it to try make some headway into Pakistan politics.

As for the people who came to greet the CJ, I can bet atleast 70-80% were from these political parties and the rest were just trying to see what was going on. (come on guys you live in Khi, agar ek accident bhi ho jai you get a dozen spectators)
