  6. barristerakc on September 24th, 2008 @ 2:27 pm

  7. shoaib on September 24th, 2008 @ 5:24 pm

Local people as police is the best solution..

  8. shoaib on September 24th, 2008 @ 5:25 pm

Establishing these centers is a good sign and we must appreciate it. Important thing is how productive they are with solving the problems and not become a problem for the people.

    Community Police’s Unethical/Non Professional Behavior.

so far community police is contributing good, but authorities really need to taught them some basic traffic rules, it happened with me two times at Teen Talwar(three swords) Chorangi, this signal is observes red light (stop) for around 90 seconds and green light(Go) for around 30 seconds, ofcourse when signal goes green bikers and car drives crazily try to cross the intersection, in the mean while if there is a woman/girl waiting for crossing the road, instead of asking them to wait for the red light, community police guy will try to help her cross the road along wit him and tries to stop the traffic by his hand lane by lane. and they really feel proud for this Humanitarian Act. for drivers its very frustrating and dangerous and for the person who is crossing the road as well.

  10. cyrenity on September 24th, 2008 @ 7:20 pm

*this signal observes…. and [….so on]
    sorry i m in hurry .. :-)

  11. cyrenity on September 24th, 2008 @ 7:22 pm

@shoaib, what do you mean by "Local people as police is the best solution.."

i can smell RACISM all over your TINY POST.

whats the point of having a police reporting centre when you have many free emergency numbers to dial to. when police can not provide help, quickly enough, by alling them on given numbers then how come an empty reporting will do any good.

It would be better if they start a neighbourhood watch kind of program in every area. I remember when 8-10 years back people were attached by ‘chadda group’ during dark nights, almost all effected areas had neighbourhood watch teams and it worked.

  14. tzaidi on September 24th, 2008 @ 11:43 pm

@cyrenity, I think by ‘local people …..’, shoaib means police of any THANA should be recruited from that area itself, since the locals will be having more knowledge and info on the area, the terrain, people and bad elements in local society.

  15. tzaidi on September 24th, 2008 @ 11:48 pm

@ barristerakc, In my opinion burning the dacoits was itself sign of desperation.

But, is that mean we take law in our hands!! Wouldn’t it be sort of lawlessness, i.e, denying govt,’s writ – who is supposed to be governing the law & regulations!!

  16. wkhang on September 25th, 2008 @ 12:33 am

    @ cyrenity,

RACISM ha ha ha, yeah if you smell it than its correct, we have RACISM against Dakoos, choors, Raipests, etc we will cath them and inform them later on afer we finished our Revange against all these culprets who is trying to destabilzed the Karachi/Pakistan.

    : ), Stand Tall…

    Peace

to eliminate crime Police of Karachi should be comprise of people of karachi who are born here and atleast done Metric from this city.

  18. barristerakc on September 25th, 2008 @ 2:19 am

Our police ordinance, which governs the conduct of police in our society traces its lineage to the 1860s, when it was created not to “serve and protect” the local citizenry, but to keep them cowed down and make them obey the imperial pronouncements of an unrepresentative power. The police in Pakistan was never created to serve and protect, but to safeguard the interests of the ruling party and it is no wonder, that police is so eager to lift the bamboo cane and smash skulls regardless of who is in power. Oppression in the name of law and order is the only thing, which it understands.Police unfortunately happens to part of a problem then a solution here. Just today while I was driving back I saw traffic wardens and police on a “snap checking mission” aka “eidi collecting mission” from poor bikers ever-where in Karachi.

One of the solutions is rightly pointed out by Shoaib.

    I agree with Khalid’s coments:

One things I really liked about the unity of karachites, the way they bash up these robbers, I personally feel that, if any one catch any dacoit, instead of handing over him to police, it is better to gather up and burn him in to ashes, and it should be a default setting, for each and every CHOOR, we may find, becouse these are very well supported by local police stations and other political mafias, they will never hesitate to kill a innocent man for the sake of one thousand rupess (13 US $)also, so it is better to burn them atleast they will have a fear.

    JALA DALO…….

  21. judge on September 25th, 2008 @ 9:19 am

    yes yes

jo pakar mai aay us ko jalado, so amatures who do this for pocketmoney are scared to attempt, professional use more lethal power n kill innocent

  33. shoaib on September 27th, 2008 @ 2:30 am

  34. barristerakc on September 27th, 2008 @ 6:41 am
