....Is Proud to be in Pakistan

I know I might actually be hyperventilating here, but the mere sight of this billboard brings a smile on my face, in the chaotic situation plaguing our country, at least there are some who are proud to be IN Pakistan.

@fasee sab……sir times have changed very much……mohammad ali sab went to england and become siddu the famous BBC anchor….lived and died as a legand..loved and respected by millions….I still love to hear his recorded shows….i wish he could have seen this media revolution in the subcontinent….Ameen sayani recently visited pakistan he was very optimitic about the future….
Anoshay the pretty vj of Mtv/IM is currently doing a show about the mughals/post company east india….it is pretty good….
Ary and geo are dubai based pakistani channels watched in north and south america’s….
so what I am trying to say is…..I don’t feel like a moron but if you have a problem just with the name than you have the choice ten other music channels that are playing the same songs with a different name….and the different network….that definitely makes me feel like a moron…..

Yaar I think u took it on urself, when I was talking bout the general psyche of pakistanis around me when they feel proud that american multinational franchises are opening here, whihch in real terms gives nothing to the society..like MTV,KFC,PIZA,MACDNL etc etc

But belive me, being a moron in a qom full of morons has its own benifits

@fasee sab…..I am not concerned at what it gives to the society or the country….what matters to me most is what it gives to me…..as a mentor says"maan apney nu perdhia nahein..".
to me they give the sense of being a part of the world….and the freedom to choose….I have studied their culture very closely….the kids that are chosen to work for them are no different then the kids working for a local brand or outfit…..but they have a sense of pride and a hope to someday make it big….the American Dream is right here in the neighborhood for them….who cannot even dream to go inside a visa office.Isn’t that something to cheer about.
And as for the people like me who enjoy their services and the products they have to offer for the lest possible price and hassle ….its unbelievable….because instead of dreaming of going to america and having a big Mac now I can walk to my nearest and get it just as i buy the eggs….and have a better understanding between a dream and the reality.don’t you think it gives me more freedom then the generation before me had….who chased a dream and had to live it.and those who could not had to live it and regret it all their lives….

Chalin sir, aap jeetay,,,yeh quarter pounder with cheese, and upsized pepsi n fries aap ke huway

Per me kiya karoon apni nazar ka….ke mujhay ciunter pe kharay boys/girls american dream nai..amereican marketing nazar atay hen….where they make a waiter feel like he is some Manager, only bcoz he is wearing a tie n a coat or some nice unoform.
He can never ever be….except a few exceptions……the GLASS WALL exists and will stop him when he tries.

Dukh sirf yeh hai….ke why don’t we go for technology transfers….khao peoo and soo jao….we at suzuki an honda, still just tighten nuts and bolts of parts coming from japan…and have the guts to call it a factory.

I admit these multinations raise the benchmark for the rest, but they crush the rest instead of seeing competitoon from them…..india had banned coca cola for 15 yrs ior so, when they didn’t disclose there formula for coke…..and here we are…just making roohafaz after 62 yrs.
When they sale a 80 rupee tikka ans 10 rupay ke fries for 240 and 40, sir all that extra goes away from our system….and no asset is made whatsoever…kasoor aap ka ya mera nai…in poolicy makes ka hai…jo consumer socitey banaty hain….don’t even. Other for technology transfers or local industry upgradations

Sir if Khan bahadur Abdul Qadeer khan margala waley can steal the nuclear plant from holland….than who is stopping you or the suzuki motors….

have a very good look around to the place where they serve you a Rs80/- ka chicken tikka….sometimes you are sitting on the road/kerb or even the gutters…..you cannot compare the environment the frenchised joints have to offer….I talk to the kids before and after their visits….and witness the excitement turn into pure joy….can you claim the same for your kabab house…..
Btw, i haven’t tried it yet…but I think an upsized coke would be too much for me….lol

Sir totally agreed to ur point….what is stoping us….maybe we are too much used to the idea to just buy thing when avaialbe or granted to be avaiable by west 30 yrs laters…. and we skip the boring "reserch n develop" part….

And agree dat tikka walas have pethtic service n interior sense….dats y I said we shud have imporroved from "best industry practises" but we don’t till we face extinction…dats our mindset in every strata of society.

Jab tak sale hu rahe hai, why bother bout customer comfort…which they shud have lerend from multiz….second area where we lack is giving some thing free or on REAL sale…..salay musalman mar jain gay per kuch free ya sasta nai deen gay….

As for upsize…sir I always prefer the Mighty zinger with upsize fries and diet pepsi..:D

@fasee sab…maybe we are too much used to the idea to just buy thing when avaialbe or granted to be avaiable by west 30 yrs laters

just this morning I was watching one of my favorite morning show….where the nice and soft anchor was trying to climb a rock on margala….now I cannot imagine her trying to climb the K2 or everest…..not in a million years….because she is not built for it…..
there is a huge difference between the upbringing of an average pakistani and an american, japanese or korean….and I am sure you must have seen it with your own eyes….
getting a degree,a job and married is the prime goal of life for an average pakistani….."mein barda ho kay doctor banoun ga aur insaniyat ki khidmat karoun ga…."
people who started to think big here triggers the alarm…and are soon seen off at the airports…."yeah zaroor kuch ban kay aaay ga…"(no pun intented at the pakistani ambassidor to the US)

    @ wasiq

Sir dats the point….ap ke qadeer khan margala walay….he was one of those exceptions I was talkin bout…..we as qom make sure aisay banday ziyada na niklain…aur jo niklain un ko zaleel ker ke rakh do…..so most of talented, even crappies stay behind to run cabs in us or canada….while we eat pizza and feel good bout it…:)

As I said…kasoor hamara nai hamaray policy makers ka hai…..jaisay us waqat ke chay mughalon ka tha….

Reh giya feel good factor…to I compare it to the "feel good" chinese had when east india sent them by the tons..the junk they blew, and flet good, while there assets were taken away but they gave a shit…..:)

  14. بستنی (wasiq) on May 2nd, 2009 @ 8:36 am

@Fasee sab…sir there is a huge difference between the feelGood of the chinese and this taste of the pie…..our kids are getting smarter after the experience….they need no convincing that there is more from where this came….they could get it…they have to get….they are going to get it…..

No matter what the odds are this time,
Nothing’s going to stand in my way.
    This flame in my heart,
    And a long lost friend
Gives every dark street a light at the end.
