Utility bill for Municipal Services

I was surprised to see amount of the bill for this month yesterday. The amount was RS. 953. I thought we probably had already paid the previous month bill as we never skip so how could this much amount as it was around 450/month in our case. When I inquired dad he told me that we did try to pay the bill previous month but the bank officials refused to collect it. Interestingly instead of simply adding the two bills they had also included the FINE (40 odd rupees) for late payment for previous bill though it’s not our fault at all.

This bill stated that Jan-Mar were the months when they issued their first CDGK bill. I personally think it’s a good initiative by Mustafa Kamal Bhai. His point was since maintenance of development initiatives requires money and it’s a good idea if city generate its own revenue for this purpose. He had assured media recently that there will be a committee formed to see the affair in most NEUTRAL and honest manner for this tax and that it’s utilized properly.

I suggest CDGK needs to take into account such issue (like one I mentioned in first para) to improve its credibility. Furthermore the media is more alert than ever to pick smallest of an issue related to general public and I guess such a minor mistake should not undermine the good work done by CDGK.
Talking to a friend about this tax who was not willing to pay this tax, I was thinking how CDGK will ensure that every citizen pay their dues on time.

I think it is a great initiative by Mustafa Kamal. Just going through birth pangs right now. From honest constructive criticism (criticism with advice on how to improve) it will get much better.

I think another thing that would be necessary is that the CDGK publicize its total monthly collection from such bills on its website and have regular third party audits from trustable committees about the spending of such money. If it achieves good credit ranking due to good accounting procedures, that would also be a first for the city.

@ "they had also included the FINE (40 odd rupees) for late payment for previous bill though it’s not our fault at all"

    Dear Raja Sahib,
I didnt see any late fee in the pics, however there is a surcharge if you made payment after the due date, which is also levied in other Utility Bills. This inititative is good in its spirits…see what happen in real time. I also suggest CDGK to launch Municipal Bonds in local Stock Exchange to finance its mega projects.

And i am just curious, which connection would he have cut? Specifically name the connection that you’re talking about that would/could be cut if this bill isn’t paid on time.

And if you didn’t read it correctly, his dad did attempted to pay the bill on time. Many people(myself included) don’t wana incur and pay extra even a small sum like Rs 10 in late payment fine from their hard earned income and prefer to pay and settle the actual billed amount on time.

    @ all

I fail to understand this mail.

" Lots of horis ( mostly mahajir)

Sir although being a 2nd generation mohajir if u may call….but I must admit, most mohair bachiyaan are not hoors….down right ugly or just mediocres I must say….only a few are worth wasting time oogling at there goodies…its only there smart dressing that makes them look attractitve

By far damsels from punjab are the best, healthy fair anf well built.

Pathanis are heavier, too much white, more than needed and looks uglyier, and dresses are cheap

sindhiz have eyes, and long hair, but rest of the looks are a downer, plus there makeup sense is down right cheap

Balochis, are a no show…no looks, no dress, no makeupsense, no goodies and no complexion

Soooo punjab wins in this, hands down sir

fasee, I mostly agree with your detailed analysis about the houris. However in Karachi, Punjabi kudiyaan can hardly be seen. Most of them belong to the Clifton,DHA elite khandaans and do not roam on the streets to feast my eyes. So the only golden globes that I see, chill out with, and have many relationships with are Muhajir girls. These yamuna-gangetic chicks have something in them that frontier girls in Karachi do not possess.

Aray sir, aap tu bekar nai, bekarar niklay…LOL

Well, I agree karachi ki lrki are attractive….why…..bcoz they know they are dark complextion skinny, no measurment beasts, so they make most of it, by wearing hot attractive dresses, hair style and I guess the best ATTITUDE and brains u find in any girl is a karachi girl.

And sorry, defence girls are crap, lots of makeup an vulgar dresses per ander "made in china"…and moslty second hand maal…if u know what I mean..LOL

I stick to my punjabi gori damsels

I hate to be part of this garbage discussion, except to mention a statistical point: the percentage of beautiful women among so-called Muhajirs is same as whatever is now considered Panjab. Come on guys, stop propogating this ethnic nonesense. No matter, what ever is the criteria, by and large, and under whatever criteria, most girls of these two types are similar looking.
And, remember most Muhajir girls come from more cosmopolitan backgrounds in UP, Dehli, Gujrat, Hyderabad etc and are descendants of more inter-racial marriages…and mixing always produces better quality.
Aur jo itnee phannay khany dikhaa rahae ho tum loge, do you guys think you guys are fucking gulfaams kee aulaad?

I find all desi girls very attractive.

Lol….sir aap na na kertay kertay discussion ka part bun hi gai…..see that’s the best part of evil…u don’t have to marklet it…dukan kholo, "majm’a" khud hi lag jata hai.

Agreed on the cosmopoliton part…but what does it has do do with beauty..??

Don’t say ehtopia ki mega city me miss universe ghomri hain bcoz wo capital city hai..??

Agree on inter marriage…it just gives u good genes, better imune system, longer life, better IQ…..but sir, beauty is god gifted……intermarige kahan say a gai beech me

"Tum log gulfaam ki aulaad hu"

Sir jub aap gari ghareednay jatay hu…tu hazar bar color model specifictions dekhtay hain….aisi aisi shaklain banatay hain…kabhi kisi ne ye bola ke, nakhray tu aisa dikha raha hai jaisa fararri is ke abba ne hi banai thi na..??

Please write proper Urdu and/or proper English. It is hard to figure out your writing, or your ‘excuse for writing’!

  16. balma on May 29th, 2009 @ 7:13 pm

One more thing Fasee, if you are incapable of writing peroper Urdu, stick to your "excuse for English" i.e. improper English.
agar Taang toaRnee hae, tou English kee toRo. Leave Urdu alone.

  17. fasee on May 29th, 2009 @ 7:18 pm

    "Leave urdu alone"

Bapu ne kaha cigrate chor do, boss ne kaha us ki beti ko chor do, mohalaywalon ne kaha mohalla chor do ,KD ne kaha non alco wine chor do,wasiq nw kaha chichorpun chor do, ab balma kehta hain urdu chor doon

  18. bekararkhan on May 30th, 2009 @ 1:02 pm

I disagree with Balma on 2 counts.

    1. The use of urdu. Why should fasee stop using his mother tongue? If at all anyone in Pakistan has stopped to using his/her mother tongue it has to be Punjabis. Now what are you Balma? Based on your defence of Punjabi kudiyaan, you seem to be a perfidious Punjabi.

    2. The % of good looking girls from the Muhajir and Punjabi ethnicities is the same. Nonsense. Me being from another ethnicity can assure you that Punjabi Kudiyaan are the hottest. But in Karachi, Muhajir are the hottest.

Fasee, You bowled me over by your last comment. Therefore just for KHI metblogs I have altered my name from Bekar to Bekarar Khan. Thanks. Maybe I’ll also have my name officially changed in the future.

Well mohajirs were never a qoum…circumstaces made geographically seperated tribes called a qoum…which have diffrent traditions, lifestyle even accent….but hey who am I to argue…we have this partition excuse, pathans are sub divided into clans and don’t consider others pathans….punjabis have diffrent dialect every 70 to 80 kilometers.

By the way..maulvis told us arabic is supposed to be our mother tough or father toungh…as salay sab ke aba-o-ajdad tu arab imported hain na….yani is sari qoum ne hi apni khaal badali hoi hai….so kis per ungli uthao gay..??

Just eat niswar and enjoy mohajir bachiyaan….which although inferior in quality of punjabi bachiyaan…are waylotbetter than the ones I saw in pashtoo movies …:):)

Mohajirs / Muhajirs (not ot be confused by a mohajir with a smaller “m”) are actually considered a separate ethinicty by UN.

As far as CDGK Taxes are concerned it’s unfortunate but there’s no way to run CDGK without it now since the funds from both Sindh Govt and Federal Govt. stopped.
