Firing in DHA Ph2 and Korangi

Updated 6:28pm

More photographs of police blocking access to Korangi via Kh-e-ittehad. Riots have broken out as a result of frustration caused by failing civil utilities. No water in the area for the past four days (at least). More later.

Time: 430pm

I got these photographs just after the firing took place in the Ph2 and Korangi area, close to the main Defence roundabout. The incident took place between 345pm and 4pm where shots were fired. Rangers immediately appeared on the scene and have blocked Kh-e-Ittehad. Traffic around the DHA area is completely jammed.

Sad that the Jamaat-e-Islami and ANP would resort to such cheap tactics. I know that there were sub-machine gun and 9mm pistols and atleast 3 protesters fired straight at police.

I could also confirm that the area got regular water and electricity from last 4 days.

Kindly share some info about your party’s ammunition dump too :)

Its just all about people giving up with current system. They have (due to their own mistake) no faith on current setup and are sick of "them" all

90% of the highly corrupt in your city are the highly educated. So stop this bullshit on illiteracy. When you put people in jungle for decades you dont expect them to do PhDs on democracy and civics.

Its everybodyz mistake. When gov wants to remove kundaz from any locality, our political thaikedarz come for rescue since these localities are their VOTING circle. When this load results in power downz the same localities protest and cry and curse gov.

    "Your city" " 90 % literate"

Sir jee is city ko "tumhari city" nay hi tu maar diya, sab yahan dhanda kerna aur note bannay atay hain, koi isy apna shhar nai kehta,

Her ik ko apnay haray bhray khet, gaon ka thanda saaf pani, aur thandi saaf hawa yaad ati rehti hai, why don’t they just move there arse back to the place they love so much, if not, then contribute something to the city they make so much fortune from.

Jahaliyat, is jahaliyat, it has nothing to do with PHDs, pls understand this point.

If without arguing u jsut start throwing stones at my car, even when I am unrelated to your issue in all ways, I wud call ya a jahil, unciviliased and antisocial tendencies and all that, irrespectice of what piece of paper any universoty may have issued to you

Whebever someone go to another place for immigration, they make them run hard, to nake them know there history and traditions then are tested.

Yahan, afghans are given free land for qabza, on IICHUNDRIGARH road, prime commercial land worth in diamonds..

And how they pay back,….by throwing stones at cars whenever a bombing is in afghanistan….as balma wud say, salon ko bus me bhar ker bhej do kabul , agar itna hi peet me dard hota hai wahan ke liyee…..

@ MB, tell me tryly, since when was the last time any of you guys have done a deed truly with a spirit to help the city you extract so much money from…??

This is not my city for more than 7-8 yrs or more, but buhat kuch diya hai is shehar ne mujhay, and I feel OBLIGED, yehi parhay likhapun aur ethics ka proof hai insaanme, verna salay jahil qoum ke sapoot-e-sarzameeno ki kami nai is jahil qoum me….whoz only act for demanind aall the goodies is that woh yahan paida howay thay…

So, I wud repeat, bottom line,…sali jahil uncivilised and morraly corrupt qoum

" since when was the last time any of you guys have done a deed . .."
I do it every day. My motto is to jagao people. Here is one for you. Its by TALAT Hussain. In it he says what i keep on saying to people first wake up. We need to get rid of current leadership. All leadership that is. Mechanism is second step once the majority agrees on their removal

    http://express.com.pk/epaper/PoPupwindow.aspx?newsID=1100641888&Issue=NP_LHE&Date=20090606

And the example of PhD is to tel you that dont expect civics from those people who never tasted any such product. You are at mistake in your expectation not their attitude. Since who ever taught them how to demand in a proper manner for a right. All they known is to kill and throw stones and they doint exactly that

  13. moizmasood on June 6th, 2009 @ 6:11 pm

    agree with barrister.

@ MB: jagao people pooray mulk men. and please dont consider novice politicians like "cry baby imran khan", they r not leaders and the word leadership is far far away . these kind of politicians gave nothing to this land.

imagine for a moment this country without karachi and then think what you can do with your theories.

Jagna jagana, achi achu batain kerna, tarawi parhana, all are jinoistic crap, sorry to say.

Have u ever donated cash, goods, blood on regular basis, have u ever volunteered for a good cause, have u helped the oppressed, or have honestly help improve the quality of life of the citizens without any reward or remuneration , is what u call REAL terms

    (Contd)

    @ mb

    As for the PHDz story.

Good to see you being upgraded from denial mode into excuse mode, I wish u upgrade further into acceptence mode, from where the true journey of betterment starts in any problem solvig life cycle.

When I say jahil qoum, pls don’t think I am calling out, down troden, poverty stricken labour class.

For. I have seen how our parha likha, foreign return, or foreign setteled qoum act, or react to a situation…..so the excuse, they never know what we expect don’t hold water here.

During gulf war, I have seen how ugly this parhi likhi, professionaly qualified, well to do, qoum acts, when I was a volunter during gulf war, in kuwaiti camps holding pakistani refugees,

Have seen two professionals brawl on a pepsi can when there was no shortage of time or pepsi cans, what was the hurry, they had all time to waste doing nothing….but what this qoum lacks is dicipline.

Watch the japanese qoum during kobe quake, or americians during katrina…..irrespetive of the negro shop robberies they BEHAVED in situation os criss….that’s what is called charater….on that scale….all of this qoum is a zamana-e-jahiliyat ki mari qoum, who still think they are some sort of islamic qilla, when they are not even a islamis back water shanty town…..afsoos hota hai yaar

  16. بستنی (wasiq) on June 6th, 2009 @ 10:25 pm

when I was a volunter during gulf war, in kuwaiti camps

@fasee sab…..I am very sorry to hear that sir….you were in the A-hole of the world during the Gulf war…..it must be really bad with a capital M…..life wasn’t so easy for me here as well….because they started CNN coverage on the STN….and for hours showed US marines kissing…on the AFB’s…..that was hell….

There were times in my life
    When I was goin’ insane
    Tryin’ to walk through
    The pain
    When I lost my grip
    And I hit the floor

    It’s Amazing

Naaaw it wasn’t that bad, as media portrayed it to be.

We were safe and secure under US mercenaries.

Only diffrence was we started having biger stockpile of canned food and water inhouse, and carried gas masks whereever we went.

    "CNN"

Yup, I heard the stories of how furustrated qoum used to watch CNN with a malmal ka duppata to see some taboo scenes…..ironic….they never had an idea what was about to come pakistans way in next decade

  18. darkknight on June 7th, 2009 @ 12:52 am

@Topic: In Karachi, we don’t need any reason for the protest! The only reason is if the party leaders told us for the protest then do the protest no question ask! we just need motivation to be outside. The best motivation Islam khatray main hai and the other one is ohh somebody killed my leader now its my right to kill other people, throw stones on every one and steal every thing. I don’t know why hamari Qaum doesn’t like Military because we follow the orders same as the military does it. The only difference is they have discipline and we don’t.

@fasee: Sir I agree with for 100% how we are so different with the rest of the world in every cause of life and sir I am talking about the people not the city or the country.

@Wasiq: sirjee you should publish all of your poems or songs which you write after your comments. Don’t you think the the world out side of the KMB should deserve to know your talent.

    US mercenaries.
@fasee sab….sir you wont believe this but during the gulf war(sham)I used to call them with the same name….the exact word…its on the record…

how furustrated qoum used to watch CNN with a malmal ka duppata to see some taboo scenes

It came a little later….when all of 100 thousand marines were seen off by their spouses, friends and pardosans from the airforce bases in the US….suddenly mulla(tkhan)of NTM interfered….and demanded a similar censorship code for his programmes…..now this panicked everybody in the pakistani media world…..because of this debate here in pakistan especially karachi everybody lost interest in the gulf war…..a morally challenged nation we are more interested in such issues you know we are….Islamabad came under pressure and they allowed the satellite dish…..and later on the cable…..the dish gave a little freedom to the people but the cable took it back away…..sometimes I feel mulla with the gang smiling behind the beard ….knowing and controlling every second of what I am watching on the cable…..which was the whole idea behind the NTM….

    you can run
    you can hide
but you can’t escape my love…..

  20. fasee on June 7th, 2009 @ 1:05 pm

Ahh yes NTM, it was a great chnage for a jahil nation used to watching PTV and who prefered BBC as a unbiased souch of info.

Imean comon BBC…!! Of all this world, who in his sane pants would call BBC a unbaised channel, yet our daniswaran-e-mohhalla loved to take pointers and quote from BBC….

CNN was a positve chnage for the society that opened it up, along with NTM

To wash the hypocratic flith from zia era’s myopic islamic views away from society.

But cable I guess over did it, they washed not only above mentioned things but peoples, espically females garments away too.

One presenter a few days back rightly said….now a days undergarments r becoming overgarments.

" Have u ever donated cash, goods, blood on regular basis, ………. is what u call REAL terms "
You think doing these things is a BIG deal?
These are VERY GOOD things to do but not a BIG DEAL. Why EDHI wasnt able to chance KARACHI with all his GOOD work? Change minds is difficult not giving money, donating and all that typical tasks.

  22. fasee on June 7th, 2009 @ 8:57 pm

    @ MB

TRUE, sir,in essence, this charity what we muslims are told to do by mullahz has a manufacturing fault.

All emphasize ke khana khilao khana khilao, and look, we have bred a legion of lazy beggars pestring aroung shoping centres for food.

Edhi mever grew out of this mould….wohi, khana khilao mentality.

Only thing good was his ambulance service, which technically is a shuttle not a ambulance….but was atleast something in this forsaken city.

What things I mentioned were atleast QUANTIFIABLE things, then mere lip service…..

We have more than our share of WORD WARRIORS, all wanting to wake this nation, and all were scams, so thanks, but no thanks.

I always ask what is any concrete term work done, no debates, same thing what MMA and jamat do….work zero and talk all the world…..imran is taking colour of that retard qazi hussian, and it shows in his non sensical debats by now.

And wonder why our psyche is for huge things only, everyguy doing small deeds daily can change this society….so brother stop waiting for any saviour and no lip service, and let’s share some good work…as there is lot to be done
