Not a very nice menu. What about rice dishes? How is it possible that a Karachi food provider is not offering Biryani or vegetable pulao, among other mouth watering rice cuisines? Being a rice lover, I reject this service :(

Apparently, the creator of this menu has simple formula. Chicken daily, daal daily and some vegetables, especially allo.

I think in yesteryears in Bombay (and may be even in Karachi’s dukaandaar community) there was a tiffin box service. I have seen some amazing pictures of cycle vaalaas carrying a huge pile of tiffin boxes on the streets of Bombay.the tiffin vaalaas will pick these lunch boxes from home and deliver to men at work.

@fasee saab …yeah absence kuch tool kya gaie hai…lol

I have seen a cycle tiffin wala very recently…times have changed now…instead of …from bahadurabad as mentioned above….I saw him going towards bahadurabad….at lunch time…I’ll try to take a picture of him for you guys and for my personal memories…when I was very young our next door neighbor who had a shop on business recorder road…had a tiffin wala collect his lunch…it used to be a really great sight…so many tiffins on one cycle…I always wondered how he remembers which one belongs to who…and what happens if one accidentally falls or stolen…

  14. balma on October 14th, 2009 @ 6:27 pm

Well, Sadia, let me burst your bubble! Desi food is no way healthy. Neither does it look healthy. So, please keep the healthy part out. Otherwise, good luck in your venture.

  15. بستنی (wasiq) on October 14th, 2009 @ 7:36 pm

@Balma jee….khuda da khoof kar si….desi food healty nahein, fast food healthy nahein….junk food healthy nahein….what do you eat…pani main isfasgol ghool kay khatey hoein gay…aap haein na….subha shaam…rozana her haftey….lol

  16. balma on October 14th, 2009 @ 8:07 pm

    Fasiq, you got me here:-)
I was just clarifying that desi food is not healthy and a typical desi diet comprising of mostly roaTee and/aur chaaval is not healthy.

Actually, I eat all kinds of food – with aitaedaal – and I eat lots of raw vegetables and no sugar or tonic in my drinks….yehee meray husun kaa raaz hae:-)

  17. jamal shamsi (unregistered) on October 14th, 2009 @ 9:38 pm

Hygiene & Healthy are 2 different aspects about food, rice contain carbohydrates ONLY, and in any form are no way healthy,

a balanced diet shall have more of protein, – calories in pulses & fresh vegetables are destroyed the way cooked in OIL and at Red hot temperatures, despite being a harbor city the seafood is beyond the reach of common like Sugar & Aata.

I have tested twice the TIFFIN, from above location and pricewise it may be economical but portiion size is not enough for 1.5 beings ( 1 adult & 1 minor) as claimed for 2.

IT IS OK, then eating from roadside eatry or takeaway from some dhaba with cockroach infested kitchen

  18. jamal shamsi (unregistered) on October 14th, 2009 @ 9:42 pm

namaz – who named you? Allah tum par reham karay aur aqal ata farmai, shadi sai pehlay nam change kar layna warna namaz kisi kai nikah mai nahi hoti,

  20. بستنی (wasiq) on October 17th, 2009 @ 9:04 am

@fasee saab….sir toba kijeeay…how dare you said that Bajma jee use boiled nestle water….aap ko toh pata hai nestle company kis ki hai…toba toba balma jee could never touch a nestle product….I am sure kay woh Aquafina ki bagaeir kholi bottle ko boil kar kay uss main bageir khola half sachet of tang ya limopani ghool kay… use kartey hoein gay…because that’s the only healthy and refreshing thing for the people at this age….lol

  21. fasee on October 17th, 2009 @ 10:24 am

    @ wasiq

Limpopani pe un ki ad yaad a gai….its good to see some ‘sealed packs’ moving around…..verna tv pe tu sab..;);)…khair..

Balmaji I am sure wud, in spirit of crusades n holocast…wud cholorinate the water, then put some phosphorus bars….then a musapha sachet….and boil the concoction of aquafina…

This process leaves bactaria with odds of survivability equal to a bikini clad lolita staying a vigin during her night stay at a boys hostel

  22. balma on October 17th, 2009 @ 10:52 am

I drink triple treated water in Karachi.
Nalkay kaa paani goes through UV filter. What comes out is then boiled. then I use a pitcher with breta filter to store the water.

It is funny that as a kid and until late teen age, I used to drink nalkaa water without any problem. Then, as with every thing in Pakistan, things went from good to bad to worse to worst to tabahkun.

I never buy bottled water in Pakistan. Either I carry my own water – or drink tea or coffee….when outside even if it is fucking Pearl Continental. Since there is no check and balance in Pakistan, I have trouble trusting Nestle or Hashvaani’s (saalay ab Pearl may yeh apnaa bottled water baichtay hai’n)

  23. fasee on October 17th, 2009 @ 11:24 am

    @ balma

Its good you don’t trust that slimey hashoowani nimbopani….

Nestle..although best of the bottled lot, is still suspectable.

There were good times when I drank dual filtered water boiled then cooled….yet was a cumbersome procedure and really a hassle…..

So for now I rest my trust on a danish jew….till the time I shift to canada to live among the jews themselves

  24. بستنی (wasiq) on October 19th, 2009 @ 8:31 am

I drink triple treated water in Karachi.

bolo bolo tum ney kya dekha
na meri sari dekhi na mera jhumka dekha

    “Jews in canada”

Can’t say wid authenticity, as I m not there as yet, but have heard they have a strong influence…

And besides, even, one jew with a billion dollars is much better than 10 million jahil n phatichar muslims with 100 dollars in there hole ridden pockets.

Its simple maths…and being head of all major finnacial banks, institutions, food groups, top 100 companies, mediagroups….they don’t even have to go there…..they wud just sneez n there wud be a blizard in all the god forsaken ummah

  26. بستنی (wasiq) on October 19th, 2009 @ 10:21 pm

@fasee saab…sir with all due respect….living with rich jews and bihari’s is not as easy as ABC…..they would drain your brain and all your resources before their’s….everytime I refuse to share something they so desperately want….I get to hear…this…”jao jao…nahein chahiyeah…hummary pass tum se achcha hai…woh toh hum …”

  27. fasee on October 20th, 2009 @ 12:50 pm

    @ wasiq

Lol….dats one way of stealing your posessions.

agree they drain u of ur resources, but sir, I wud prefer to be sucked dry by an intelligent articulate bastards instaed of being sucked upon by the spineless illetrate jahil bastards of the local type…any day any time

  28. بستنی (wasiq) on October 20th, 2009 @ 9:15 pm

  29. fasee on October 21st, 2009 @ 10:12 am

    @ wasiq

Lol, sir jee, agreed, door ke dhool suhanay lagtay hain…but the heavy metal in close proximity, or shud I call dat death metal, dats deafning.

I wud prefer the dhool over death metal , any time, all the time….

As for thanking…yup I thank all my relatives n people I encountred in life, for so many things, that helped me establish myself into what I am now….wheter they did it intentionaly or un intentionaly,
