Karachi’s Radio Cab Services Chickened Out !

No surprise, with all the media hype being given to PHET people were really scared of the storm but what I couldn’t understand is why on earth did all the radio cab services chickened out, suspending their services to the city. And no the road conditions were not all too bad because I was able to get my old wracked Suzuki FX driven all the way from FB Area to the airport and back without any issues.

What I don’t understand is that how can a public service like Radio Cab which most commuters specially those going to the airport or coming from, complete depend upon can stop their services for no good reason ?

    Muhammad Jamashullah,
You fail to understand that all taxi services in Karachi are private enterprises. They will provide sevices at their will.
Unless, Pakistani qaum realizes this, unless Pakistani qaum realizes that nothing is free, unles they realize that they have to pay for services, we will see stupid posts like this.

I had a White Cab booked for 2:30 AM .. they called me and told me they can not come. We decided to use the regular yellow taxi. On the way the back entire Share-e-Faisal was flooded (around 3-4 am) and no Suzuki FX in the world could have made it to FB Area in that flood. Cab companies did the right thing.

Totally agreed. They are private organizations. And the poster is a stupid chicken.

Your grammar is atrocious. Your writings are incoherent. I understand the gist of what you were attempting say, but I’ve been following your articles for a while and all of them consist of half baked arguments and a confounding mix of words, grammar and syntax.

I apologize if I came off too harshly. But I feel that if you put in a bit more effort into constructing valid arguments and developing sophisticated sentences, your writing could become as great as your photography :).

it is all media hype, sensationalising creating panic and scare among common,

rains started only at 1 am on saturday night continued intermittently till 2 PM sunday. – what the media showed on screens was from archieves and ding the mile scoring doing coverage of sitting GOVT,

met officials take their own catch of exposure all set prepared and ready with suits & ties, – were they ready for the real news or just being active to act naive and try to act Important??

All these specialist can be brought to panel on a TV and asked for their abilities and qualifications…. Internet have made everyone a scholar and doctor awab alvi is no less then aamir liaquat, babur awan & jamshed dasti

again it proved our met department is fucked up, they did all statements based on internet weather sites which do calculations with time lag 3 – 5 hours ‘after its over’

the only closest correct info was on Aljazeera weather which announced that worst hit after oman will be Gawader in Balochistan, Pakistan and easter parts of rural sindh province, the city Karachi have no threat being not under direct path of the cyclone and only mild to heavy intermittent showers on scattered parts of Karachi, will happen. South eastern sindh will be most affected begining Sunday afternoon onwards till 11 PM Sunday, calm will prevail and only intermittent drizzle in Karachi and upper parts of sindh as reported on friday 10 PM (PAK TIME) bulletin,

and thats what really happened. Sun is shinning and I seriously doubt if there will be any drizzle today or later in the week… !

It would have been lot better had we avoided generalization like Mulla londaybaz etc etc, but at the same time we need to understand about the perception of sindhi punjabi pukhtoon & mullah in karachi.

Mostly people from all over Pakistan turn-up to karachi thinking that they will be millionaire in few years time without considering their skills. Mostly they are illiterates & poor.

Once they tried their luck they opt for shortcut(crime) which makes people of karachi hate them.
