Amid Chaos and Fear – Karachi is alive

Update: PSO pump between Baloch Colony Bridge and Kavish Crown is open right now for both petrol and CNG. Pics taken an hour back show chaos, slight noak-jhonk and an effort by rangers & locals to keep things under some discipline at PSO near Baloch bridge. Note : The station usually accepts credit-card but not today so keep some cash.

I love that CNG rickshaw in one of those pictures.
I love rickshaws. Such a wonderful savaari. If only they could cut down the noise and pollution due to it.

You can see rangers there, hard to believe it could be torched in the presence of Rangers. I might be wrong cuz if business owners don’t cooperate (Rishwat) with them they often leave them on the mercy of mobs.

On all 3 “violent mourning” days law of jungle prevailed in Karachi after sunset. Thing were bad on all 4 days during the day but after sunset thing became worse. The pump on baloch colony too was burnt after sunset,it definitely must have been closed when it was torched, rangers obviously must have been present while they were operating during the day and giving fuel to motorists.

Most probably it must have been punished for not observing FULL 3 days of ‘mourning’ .. like MQM Altaf on one hand since day one was saying it would be ‘peaceful mourning’ and there is no strike on any of the 3 mourning days. On the contrary they start wrecking and tearing apart Karachi,so who in his sane mind would have opened his business when MQM unit terrorists went amuck in the city..

a small sample showing how they had been busy ‘mourning’
